European Blackjack or 21(Twenty-One) is a variation of the classic game of Blackjack and follows very similar rules. Players wanting to pick up this popular card game can learn in a few fun and simple steps.
In European Blackjack, players compete against the dealer to reach a total of 21 without going over. Before the game begins, the player must place a bet on the table in increments of $1, $5, $25, $100 or $500. Once the bet is made, two cards will be dealt with the player face up and the dealer is dealt with only one. At this point, the Player will choose to hit, double-up, split, surrender or stand. If the player does not go over 21, then the focus switches to the dealer, who will be dealt a second card or as many as required to reach a total of 21. The Player can buy insurance for half of their original bet amount. If the dealer has Blackjack, then the player will be paid 2 to 1 on the Insurance bet. If the dealer doesn’t have Blackjack, then the insurance amount is lost. If the player is dealt Blackjack and buys the insurance and the dealer also has Blackjack then the player is paid out on his insurance bet only but the win amount would equal that of a regular winning hand in Blackjack which pays even money.
